Born in Lagos to a Kenyan mother and Nigerian father, I now live by the sea in Brighton (UK) with my wife and two young children. I grew up between Nigeria and the Netherlands, before moving to the UK where I finished school in South London and then studied English Literature at King's College, Cambridge.

I've travelled the world working as a bass player, vocalist and DJ, working mostly with Mercury Prize-nominated indie rock band Metronomy, but also on projects like like Solange Knowles' US #1 album 'A Seat At The Table' and Damon Albarn's 'Africa Express'. I've also produced remixes for the likes of Laura Marling, Janelle Monae, Mew, Alt-J, Depeche Mode and the Scissor Sisters.

As a DJ, I've played out at events and festivals across the UK and worldwide, performing in the USA, Australia, Japan, Russia, Italy, Norway, South Africa and more. I've recorded mixes and live sessions for Boiler Room, Red Bull Music Academy His undoubted ability to work a crowd also caught the attention of the Red Bull Music Academy, Dummy, i-D, Okayafrica, Clashmusic, XLR8R and many more.

I have written about my experiences as an immigrant and a musician for publications like The Guardian, Clash Magazine and Okay Africa. During the Covid pandemic, my brother Seye and I co-authored a short story that was printed and distributed throughout the UK as part of ‘Dr. Martens Presents’.

Metronomy are currently on hiatus after completing an album cycle, but I am always keen to keep busy, collaborating with bands and artists of all genres and never far away from a set of Pioneer CDJs.
